Spring –
Nature Awakens

Spring in Finland (March- May) is a time of contrasts — soft light, fresh air, and the joy of watching nature slowly come alive again. In southern Finland, the snow melts earlier and temperatures begin to climb steadily — from around 0°C in March to 10 – 15°C by late May.

In Lapland and the north, spring arrives later. Snow often remains until late April, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy sunny days on the snow — perfect for skiing, snowshoeing, or husky safaris in milder conditions. Despite daytime warmth, nights remain crisp, and the Northern Lights can still be seen well into April, creating a magical overlap of seasons.

Summer – Endless Light & Lush Landscapes

Summer (June to August) is Finland at its most vibrant. With temperatures ranging between 15°C and 25°C, it’s the perfect time for outdoor adventures, lake escapes, and exploring the endless forests. In the north, you can experience the surreal Midnight Sun, where the sun doesn’t set for weeks — daylight lasts nearly 24 hours.

From boating and hiking to sauna evenings by the water, summer in Finland is pure bliss. Festivals fill the cities, national parks are in full bloom, and life slows down to savor the warm, golden days.

Autumn – Colors, Calm & Crisp Air

Autumn (September to November) paints Finland in breathtaking colours. The forests turn into a rich palette of gold, red, and orange — a phenomenon known as ruska. Temperatures range from 10°C in early September to around freezing by November, and daylight begins to shorten, offering 5 to 10 hours depending on the region.

It’s also the beginning of Northern Lights season in the north, often visible from early September on clear nights. This season is perfect for cozy getaways, foraging berries and mushrooms, scenic road trips, and enjoying Finland’s quiet beauty before winter returns.

Winter –
A Nordic Wonderland

Winter (December to February) transforms Finland into a true Arctic fairy tale. Snow blankets the landscape, lakes freeze, and temperatures range from -5°C in the south to -30°C in the far north. Days are short — only 2 to 6 hours of daylight — but the soft, blue twilight and the chance to see the Northern Lights make it magical.

This season is ideal for snow sports, husky safaris, reindeer rides, visiting Santa Claus and cozy cabin stays. Winter in Finland is peaceful, pure, and unforgettable.
